Description: Multi-chine hull with deep V-shaped lines to accommodate 2 x 230hp Volvo diesels with duo-prop stern drives or 2 diesel outboards.


Completion Stage: hull fitted with stainless steel handrails and ready for buyer to make own engine selection and undertake internal furniture fit out.


SHIP BUILDER’S COMMENTS

The boat has is of aluminium construction and is a tank tested design, with a fine entry and deep v hull. This is an easily driven hull that will achieve 30 knots with 500hp -(please refer to Speed Graph & also Stability Graph attached.)

I have been building commercial fishing boats in Portland since the early 1980’s in both steel and aluminium. Portland Ocean Steel was established in 1998 for the purpose of contract building larger vessels such as trawlers and longliners but have since then have diversified in to other areas.

We are selling the VDS vessel at this stage of completion as it enables the buyer to make their own engine selection based on personal preference and also intended purpose of the vessel. Although developed as a pleasure craft – it came about by customers wanting to trade in their sailing yacht for a motorboat! – the design of the vessel certainly lends itself to other purposes such as a crew boat. In the past have we explored the vessel being put into survey as a crew boat. We submitted plans to Marine Safety Victoria and the Naval Architect in charge of Marine Safety at the time stated that he could see no problem with the boat passing USL code.

With regards to fit out some (70-80%) of the interior has been cut out and is ready for installation. It consists of Myrtle Veneered A Bonded Ply.

Externally the boat has been fitted with LEWMAR hatches, stainless steel vents, bollards and staunchions, and tinted laminated glass windows. It is essentially a bare hull which was grit blasted and given a 3 coat 2 Pack System. It is designed to take two stern drive engines. Our thought was to put two 260hp Steyr engines in it with Bravo II legs. It also has integral fuel tanks, water tank and grey water tank fitted. It is ready to be fitted out and engines installed.
